International Keybord Support for Non-Tech Individuals = Final Boss š¾
I really love my Creator Micro (legacy) ā at least visually. Functionally, it has been an expensive paperweight so far. Itās been sitting on my desk for ages because I never managed to actually set it up & use it. Every setup guide I can find is from my perspective super technical, heavily code-focused, and feels overwhelming if youāre not a developer ā at least it appears like that.
The main problem (I think): Iām in Germany and use a DE keyboard. The official templates can be downloaded and set just fine, but they donāt work because all shortcuts assume a US layout. Since the key positions differ, the Creator Micro sends commands that donāt match my actual keys. The result: nothing behaves as expected.
It would help massively if international keyboard layouts (like DE etc.) could be supported somehow, I always feel stuck. I really appreciate the effort so far with your set-up support pages, but I personally would need more explanation and guidance.
Iād love to actually use the device. The hardware is fantastic ā but the barrier to entry for non-tech users with non-US keyboards feel extremely high. A simpler setup flow or built-in layout options would make a world of difference.
Thanks for considering! Fellow human over & out.
PS: Just adding this once: I help companies choose and set up learning platforms, and I create or support all kinds of learning content for a living ā from simple explanations to full learning experiences. If thatās something you ever need, Iām here and happy to help. And who knows ā maybe thatāll even be the perfect excuse to finally set up my creator micro. š

Hi @K8HOK , thank you for your feedback! The legacy Creator Micro is tied to the VIA App software which doesnāt handle international layouts. Fortunately we plan to test an experimental support of that product in Input, which would allow you to use it with multiple international layouts but I canāt give an ETA yet on it.

Hi @Riccardo Delfanti thanks for your feedback!
The legacy Creator Micro (CMv1) is tied to the VIA App software which does only handle QMK. Fortunately we plan to test an experimental support of that product in Input, but I canāt give an ETA on it yet.
