International Keybord Support for Non-Tech Individuals = Final Boss 👾

I really love my Creator Micro (legacy) — at least visually. Functionally, it has been an expensive paperweight so far. It’s been sitting on my desk for ages because I never managed to actually set it up & use it. Every setup guide I can find is from my perspective super technical, heavily code-focused, and feels overwhelming if you’re not a developer – at least it appears like that.

The main problem (I think): I’m in Germany and use a DE keyboard. The official templates can be downloaded and set just fine, but they don’t work because all shortcuts assume a US layout. Since the key positions differ, the Creator Micro sends commands that don’t match my actual keys. The result: nothing behaves as expected.

It would help massively if international keyboard layouts (like DE etc.) could be supported somehow, I always feel stuck. I really appreciate the effort so far with your set-up support pages, but I personally would need more explanation and guidance.

I’d love to actually use the device. The hardware is fantastic — but the barrier to entry for non-tech users with non-US keyboards feel extremely high. A simpler setup flow or built-in layout options would make a world of difference.

Thanks for considering! Fellow human over & out.

PS: Just adding this once: I help companies choose and set up learning platforms, and I create or support all kinds of learning content for a living — from simple explanations to full learning experiences. If that’s something you ever need, I’m here and happy to help. And who knows — maybe that’ll even be the perfect excuse to finally set up my creator micro. 😄
